Brent has been playing, singing and writing cowboy and country western music since the age of 12.

He was born a cowboy with a rich heritage in music and cowboy stories and poetry.   He’s a third cousin to the famous S Omar Barker and his Brother Elliot S Barker.  They were real cowboys who shared their experiences in written poetry and stories.  Brent’s dad was a popular local singer and guitar player who sang “Ole Shep” on KSL radio at the age of 6 years old.

Always a cowboy he has spent his life ranching and being a cowboy.  He competed for more than 30 years as a rodeo cowboy in various rodeo associations including the PRCA as a steer wrestler and a team roper.  He’s done a lot of hard ranch work and has been lucky enough to have had some great horses.

He enjoys performing anywhere where cowboy and country western music is played including campfires, shows in Utah, Montana and Idaho and special occasions.  He especially enjoys playing at cowboy poetry gatherings.
